The Punjab Revenue Officers’s Association had suspended the property registration work till Marhc 7 against the Vigilance Bureau action against some revenue officials in Ludhiana in fraud land deal.
A day before the Punjab Government suspended 15 tehisldars and naib-tehsildars for not doing their duties properly. revenue officials on Wednesday decided to call off their strike, keeping in view the “law-and-order” situation arising out of the farmers’ protest across the state. However, the government has not given them work of registration of properties.
Revenue officers on strike said they will not carry out any property registration work till March 7 but would undertake other work such as girdawai and mutation.
Officials privy to the matter said the department is expected to take a call on suspension orders issued to 15 revenue officials in the next few days.
