Winter is now reaching its peak in Punjab. The Meteorological Department, Chandigarh, has issued a warning for severe cold and dense fog for many parts of the state for the next few days. The department says that the cold wave will intensify between December 6th and 10th, causing further drops in temperatures both day and night.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Fazilka, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Ferozepur, Mansa, Bathinda, and Moga districts on December 9 and 10. Fog and cold are expected to be more severe than normal in these districts. While there is no alert in other districts, the effects of the cold will be felt throughout the state. Officials say temperatures in Punjab will drop sharply in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has advised people to be vigilant, wear warm clothing, and drive with special caution during fog.
