Bollywood’s famous singer Neha Kakkar has come under controversy once again. Neha’s recently released song ‘Candy Shop’ has caused an uproar. An official complaint has been filed with the Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) against the singer for the obscene scene filmed in this song.

Complainant Dr. Panditrao Dharanwar alleges that child rights have been violated during the shooting of the song. It is being claimed that the lyrics and video of the song contain some elements which are not suitable for children and can adversely affect their mental level. The complainant also claimed that the song violates the July 22, 2019 order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which raised concerns over the dissemination of content that could have an adverse effect on children.
Taking a strong stance on the alleged obscenity and objectionable scenes in the song, the Punjab State Child Rights Protection Commission has written a letter to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) for action. Punjab State Child Rights Protection Commission Chairman Kanwardeep Singh has said in a letter written to the National Commission on January 9, 2026 that this matter is of national level. The commission has demanded that proper legal action be taken against Neha Kakkar. The song should be removed from YouTube and other social media platforms immediately. Dr. Pandit Rao has also appealed to the DGP Punjab to file an FIR in this case.
