Chandigarh Oct 17, 2014 : Harinder Singh Sikka presenting the upcoming religious movie Nanak Shah Fakir..The shooting of the movie is going on and is expected to release soon. ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ is produced by Harinder Sikka and the Oscar winning Resul Pookutty (Co-Producer). The movie is the first one to portray the story of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on a very big screen.

The music for the movie is given by talented music director Uttam Singh. “The one I am really looking forward to is the film Nanak Shah Fakir. The shooting for the film has already started and it would be releasing soon. In this movie, I would be giving different kind of music. Everything from the composition to lyrics will be reflective of the theme of the film. Other than this, I am also doing other projects, which I would like to talk about later”, said Uttam Singh.

Computer graphics have been used to portray his character. A distributor cut of the film was also showcased at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival.
Oscar winner, Resul Pookutty is currently completing sound design in his own studio. As per Reports, music composer, AR Rahman is involved with the background music of the film. The film has a wider appeal as its social subject rather than a spiritual one as insisted by Pookutty.

“I joined the film project after seeing 40 minutes of the footage,” explains Pookutty about his involvement in the film.He adds “I was overwhelmed by the fact that the film’s Producer, Harinder Singh Sikka, had never even seen a film set before he ventured to make Nanak Shah Fakir,”.

A distributor cut of Nanak Shah Fakir was also showcased at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival. Resul Pookutty is currently completing the sound design in his own studio. Reports also suggest that AR Rahman is involved with the background music of the film, which is being composed by Finnish composer Tuomas Kantelinen. The film also stars some other veteran actors like Tom Alter and Arif Zakaria.
