Ludhiana Additional session Judge (fast track special court under POSCO Act) has awarded death penalty to 28 years old man who has raped and murdered 4 years old girl.
Judge Amar Jeet Singh of Additional session found the accused Sonu Singh guilty of committing the crime. The court has awarded the accused death sentence under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC and section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO). Court has also imposed a fine of Rs5.5 Lakh on the accused and also ordered compensation of Rs10 Lakh to the victim family.
Accused was known to the family as he was a guest in their neighbourhood he lured the girl with a chocolate the crime and he dumped the girl body in a bed box at the house of his relatives and fled.
Later accused was arrested by Punjab police from Fathepur in Uttar Pradesh. In its judgement ciurt described this crime as “rarest of rare”
