The new year 2026 has begun with the shock of inflation. On the very first day of the year, both ordinary citizens and businesses faced increased LPG cylinder prices. Oil marketing companies have increased the price of LPG cylinders effective January 1, 2026, with impacts felt from Delhi to Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.
Oil companies have also increased the price of commercial LPG cylinders. The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by up to ₹111. This increase has been implemented nationwide, which is expected to increase the costs of hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and small and large businesses. However, it is a matter of relief that the price of a 14-kg domestic LPG gas cylinder has remained unchanged. This means that the price of the cylinder used for cooking in homes remains unchanged.
