The teams of Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals were transported from Dharamshala to Jalandhar Railway Station via Hoshiarpur amid tight security on Friday. Kangra Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri gave this information. The official said that the players of both the teams are currently leaving for New Delhi by a special train. Pakistan tried to intrude into the airspace near Chandigarh through a drone attack, after which India had to retaliate. Meanwhile, the Indian Premier League (IPL) match played here between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was canceled midway on Thursday.

The entire contingent of both teams, including players, coaching staff and broadcast personnel, was taken from Dharamsala to Hoshiarpur on the Punjab border in around 40 to 50 small vehicles on Friday morning, the official said. The convoy was escorted by the Kangra police and once the vehicles reached Hoshiarpur, the Punjab police took over the security, he said. From there, they were taken to Jalandhar to board a specially prepared train.
