Himachal Road Transport Suspends 10 Routes to Punjab after Attack on HRTC Buses

HRTC has suspended their 10 routes to Punjab after HRTC buses were attacked in Punjab. State government in touch with Punjab as HRTC buses vandalised. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today said that he had spoken to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan, who had assured to take strict action against the miscreants.

Cheif Minister said that DGP level officers will discuss to take action on the issue, adding that police security will be provided to the buses if required.

Deputy Cheif Minister of Himachal and also Transport minister Mukesh Agnihotri said he is in touch with the Punjab Government over this issue.

“The state government has deployed corporation officials at all important bus stands in Punjab to monitor the situation,” he said.

He further said that an HRTC bus was stopped by a car without number plate on Kharar flyover and the window panes were broken by miscreants.

An FIR is already registered in Kharar police station over this issue and Mohali SSP has said that security will be provided to our buses he said.

In a similar incident near Sirhind stones were pelted on an HRTC bus.
