MP Bhagwant Mann and his supporters staged protest against unscheduled power cuts in front of power grid sub-station at Shehna town in the district.They Demanded uninterrupted power supply to the farm sector. The protestor alleged the state government had failed in providing regular supply to the domestic, industry and agricultural sector.
Bhagwant Mann said, “Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal should have applied his energy and efforts to solve the problem of power shortage in Punjab, instead of wasting his energy for seeking a cabinet berth for his party art the Centre.Mann said during the Lok Sabha elections, the SAD-BJP alliance had claimed it would make Punjab a power surplus state. He alleged the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister were still misleading people on the matter. He alleged the Union Government had been discriminating against Punjab in allocating power projects.
