Bhagat Puran Singh Ji’s real life movie Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe

Amritsar, 1 Feb 2015: Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe, a Harjit Singh film, is a biopic based on the life of Bhagat Puran Singh who devoted his life to selfless service of the underprivileged, invalid and rejected people of the contemporary society. It begins with a soulful song ‘Arti’ by Sant Rama Nand and continues to depict the whole life of the philanthropist. The first half focuses how the moral teachings given to him by his mother which, along with the severe hardships she underwent, taught him the principles of selfless service for mankind. Also, one of the main focus of the movie is his concern for the environment and his fear of devastation on the planet Earth.

“From now on, I will see every woman as my mother” is among the most prominent dialogues by the prime character in the movie which has been beautifully played by Bollywood veteran Pavan Malhotra. Another heart touching dialogue which shows his devotion to the diseased and the needy is “I can’t let my patients die on roads. The least we can do is find a place for them so that they die with dignity. ”In the second half, the whole focus shifts to the foundation and functioning of Pingalwara, the house he ran for the destitute and the diseased. He decided to build such a place when the destitute and invalids of the post-Partition refugees had no roof over their heads and no person showed any mercy on them.

A telling tale of a man who refused to accept the Padma Shri award is reason enough for viewers to watch this film at the nearest theatre.

A very essential component of the movie which gives it an even more humane touch is its soulful music. The title song reveals how he was separated from God for many incarnations and wanted to devote this birth to the service of the Almighty. A must watch, the film guarantees to strike a chord with the viewers and inspire all irrespective of age and background.
