Crackdown on illegal immigrants in America, 42 arrested including 30 Indian drivers

US Border Patrol officials have arrested 30 Indian nationals living illegally in the US. The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said in a statement last week that several Border Patrol agents in California’s El Centro sector arrested several illegal immigrants who had commercial vehicle driving licenses after stopping vehicles at immigration checkpoints and during inter-agency operations.

Authorities arrested 42 illegal immigrants driving semi-trucks with commercial driver’s licenses on interstate routes between November 23 and December 12. Of those arrested, 30 were from India, two from El Salvador, and the rest were from China, Eritrea, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Russia, Somalia, Turkiye, and Ukraine.

CBP reported that California issued 31 commercial driver’s licenses; Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington issued eight licenses each. It said the inter-agency operation was aimed at enforcing immigration law violations, protecting U.S. highways, and maintaining regulatory standards in the commercial transportation sector.
