An Indigo flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad, Telangana, was forced to divert to Mumbai on Tuesday morning after receiving a bomb threat. An email sent to flight number 6E1234 claimed a human bomb was on board. The threatening email was received on Delhi Airport’s official system, prompting an immediate security alert.

Preparations for an emergency landing were made in advance at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Security agencies, bomb detection and disposal squads, and other emergency teams were deployed on the runway. The plane—an Airbus A321—took off from Kuwait at 1:56 am and landed safely in Mumbai at 8:10 am. An official statement from IndiGo Airlines has not yet been issued.

Earlier, on November 23rd, a flight from Bahrain to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai due to a bomb threat. In that case, no suspicious object was found during security checks, and the threat was found to be false. A thorough investigation is underway on the latest flight that landed in Mumbai, and according to preliminary information, no suspicious object has been found so far.
