After the brutal murder of a five-year-old child by a migrant laborer in Hoshiarpur, there is a wave of anger among the people of Punjab against the migrants and the demand to expel criminal migrants from Punjab is constantly rising. In this regard, today 3 villages near Sri Anandpur Sahib, Gram Panchayat Lodipur, Panchayat Lodipur Barotu Bas, Panchayat Jhugiyan Bas have passed a resolution against the migrants and have given them 10 days to get police verification done and have warned that any migrant who does not get the verification done will be thrown out of the village.

Sarpanch Navpreet Kaur of Gram Panchayat Lodipur Jhungiya, Neelam Sharma of Lodipur Barotu Bas and Babu Ram of village Lodipur said that hooliganism by migrants is on the rise in Punjab. While the recent incidents in Nawanshahr and Hoshiarpur have shaken all the residents of Punjab, the unfortunate incident of a Punjabi girl of Lodipur village being lured and abducted by a migrant boy some time back had created huge resentment against the migrants in the adjoining area of ​​Sri Anandpur Sahib.

Residents of these three villages said that a large number of migrants have settled in our village, due to which the villagers are facing a lot of problems. Due to the above incidents, they have given ten days’ time to the migrants living in the village to get police verification done in the general meeting and if anyone does not get the verification done within these ten days, he will be thrown out of the village.

Along with this, a resolution has also been passed to get the police verification of the tenants and the people living in the camps done. He also said that it has often been seen that a large number of these migrants keep fishing from morning till evening on the banks of Satluj river in Lodipur village, which poses a threat to life and property. Therefore, he has passed a resolution and put a complete ban on fishing.

On this occasion, Pradeep Kumar, Hardeep Singh Bhullar, Panch Sher Singh, Panch Gurpreet Singh said that if the migrants living here do not get their verification done within the stipulated time, then action will be taken against them as per the proposal. He said that the proposals passed by the Panchayats will be given to the BDPO office and the administration will be informed about it.
