The situation between India and Pakistan is once again tense. On 7 May 2025, India launched Operation Sindoor against terrorist hideouts in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and parts of Punjab. According to the latest survey by Gallup Pakistan, nearly 2 crore Pakistani citizens have clearly said that they will not support the Pakistan Army if there is a war with India.
Retaliation by Indian Army
On May 7, the Indian Army attacked 9 terrorist targets under Operation Sindoor against Pakistan. In this attack, the Indian Army killed around 100 terrorists. This action was meant to warn against Pakistan’s nefarious intentions, with India sending a message that any terrorist activities in Pakistan-occupied territories will no longer be tolerated. Although the government of Pakistan made many false accusations against India after this action, but despite this, a large part of the people of Pakistan wants to stay away from the war.

In the latest survey of Gallup Pakistan, it has been revealed that 93 percent of Pakistani citizens believe that there is a war with India. However, about 7 percent i.e. about 2 crore Pakistani people are against the war and have made it clear that they will not support the Pakistan Army if there is a war with India. This figure reflects the internal situation of Pakistan, which has been struggling with military policies, terrorism and poor economic conditions for the past several years.

Pakistan’s economic situation is continuously deteriorating. Due to the situation of GDP, unemployment, and inflation, the common people of Pakistan now want peace. Due to the nurturing of terrorism and military rule in Pakistan, citizens are now against plunging their country into war. Pakistani citizens believe that war would mean further weakening of their own economy and for Pakistan to take this decision at such a time would be like hitting itself with an ax.

Many people in Pakistan now want peace with India and are trying to avoid war. Citizens now want to move towards peace because of the atrocities and terrorist activities of the Pakistan army. This survey is a mirror of Pakistan’s internal situation, which shows that the citizens of Pakistan are now against the army and the military policy of the government.
