Chandigarh: Its election time and one could expect any promise from the politicians. In an attempt to lure youth to vote for him Punjab Congress chief Capt. Amarinder Singh has announced to give 50 lakh smartphones, with one year of free data and calling, to the youth of state if he is voted to power.
Captain Amarinder Singh launched the scheme – Captain Smart Connect on Sunday. He promised the youth that those who registered themselves for the smart phones would get them within 100 days of the formation of the Congress government in the state.
The Aam Aadmi Party has strongly criticised the announcement alleging that Capt. Amarinder or Badals could even try to lure youth to vote for them with drugs.
