Bollywood actress and former Chandigarh MP and BJP leader Kiran Kher owes around Rs 13 lakh for the allotted government house in Sector 7. In this case, the administration has issued a notice to them and asked them to deposit the money soon. If payment is not made within the stipulated time, 12% annual interest will also be charged.

How to make arrears?
Kiran Kher was allotted House No. T-6/23 of Sector-7 as an MP. This amount is levied on them in the form of license fees and penalties.
- The rent for July 2023, August 2024, September 2024 and 1 to 5 October 2024 is said to be Rs 5,725 arrears.
- She stayed in the bungalow illegally from 6 October 2024 to 5 January 2025, so a penalty of 100 times was imposed instead of the normal rent. During this period the penalty is 3,64,620 rupees.
- 6th January 2025 to 12th April 2025 (the date of vacating the premises) was again treated as an unauthorized period and 200% penalty was imposed, amounting to Rs.8,20,287.
- Apart from this, dues of Rs.26,106 are also included under the old notification from 8th November 2017 till the vacation date.
- 59,680 till 30th April 2025 on adding interest at 12% per annum.
The total amount of all these is 12,76,418 rupees i.e. about 13 lakh rupees.
Notice of administration
On 24 June 2025, the Assistant Controller (F&A) Rents Office of Chandigarh Administration sent a notice to Kiran Kher at her private house located in Sector-8A. It said that they can deposit the amount through demand draft or fund transfer.
