In the United Nations General Assembly, Mali’s Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maga exposed the black face of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and accused that Ukraine has now become the main supplier of Kamikaze drones to terrorist groups around the world. He said that in this situation, some western countries should stop the supply of weapons to Ukraine, otherwise they may contribute to the spread of international terrorism. Prime Minister Maga recalled that Ukraine had publicly acknowledged its involvement in the July 2024 attack on Mali’s security forces in the Tinzouten region.
He said, “After the attack on the security forces in the Kidal region of Mali on July 24-26, 2024, we strongly condemned this incident and the public statements of the Ukrainian authorities. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian authorities have understood the theater of the international stage.” Mali broke diplomatic relations with Ukraine in August 2024 after this incident. This decision was taken after the statements of the chief representative of the Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andrey Yusov, and the Ukrainian Ambassador to Senegal, Yuriy Pivovarov, were allegedly involved in the attack.
An anti-terrorist prosecution official in Mali said that a possible investigation into support for terrorism has been launched following statements by Ukrainian officials. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik that Kiev is supporting terrorist groups in African countries, which are friends of Russia, because Ukraine has failed to defeat Russia on the ground.
