Vande Bharat train stopped in Punjab, people sat on the tracks, atmosphere heated up

Vande Bharat train faced protest from passengers of passenger trains at Goniana railway station near Bathinda. Enraged by the delay in the passenger train due to Vande Bharat, the passengers staged a sit-in on the track on which Vande Bharat was to arrive. In view of this situation, Vande Bharat was stopped a little behind Goniana. On receiving information about the train being stopped, RPF police force from Bathinda and Kotkapura swung into action and reached the spot and removed the people from the railway lines. After this, the passenger train was sent off first, while after that Vande Bharat was sent off with a delay of about 17 minutes.

Passengers on the passenger train stated that they travel from faraway places to Bathinda daily for their work, but because the Vande Bharat and passenger trains have the same timings, the passenger train is stopped. Their train is then dispatched after the Vande Bharat passes. Consequently, they are unable to reach their work destinations on time and are late every day. They reported that even today, the passenger train was stopped to give way to the Vande Bharat, angering the passengers. They protested on the railway lines, forcing the Vande Bharat to be stopped. RPF officials stated that strict legal action will be taken against those who protested on the railway lines and stopped the Vande Bharat. They stated that the people in the viral video are being identified and a case will be filed against them by the GRP.
