Trump’s new ultimatum on the Russia-Ukraine war-suddenly reducing the ceasefire period

US President Donald Trump has suddenly reduced the deadline given to Russia to stop the war in Ukraine. Trump said on Monday that now Russian President Vladimir Putin has only 10 to 12 days, while earlier he had given a deadline of 50 days. Trump said he wants concrete progress toward a peace deal from August 7 to 9. He warned on July 14 that heavy tariffs would be imposed on Russia if the war was not over by September.

Now, due to the reduction of the deadline, the suspicion of imposing additional duties and sanctions on Russia’s trading partners has also increased. Trump said that it will be formally announced soon. Speaking to reporters during a trip to Scotland, Trump said – “There is no longer any reason to wait. We are not seeing any progress. Putin will have to compromise, because a large number of people are being killed.” When Trump was asked if he would meet with Putin, he said clearly – “Now I am not very interested in the conversation.”

There has been no official response from Russia to this new ultimatum of Trump. Meanwhile, according to the Air Force of Ukraine, Russia fired more than 300 drones, four cruise missiles and three ballistic missiles overnight. Trump once again criticized Putin for bombing civilians. US-led efforts to end the war have not been very successful yet. Trump says that if Russia does not negotiate, it will be forced to take severe economic action.
