America’s strict action in the sea continues. The US administration led by President Donald Trump seized another oil tanker on Friday, January 9. This action was carried out in the Caribbean Sea, where the oil tanker named ‘Olina’ was seized by the US forces.

It is clear from this action that the Trump administration is taking a tough stance against banned oil tankers linked to Venezuela and continues to target such vessels.
US Marines and Navy Joint Operations
The US Southern Command said that this operation was carried out by a joint team of US Marines and Navy. “There is no safe haven for criminals,” Kaman said while announcing the seizure of the ship.
Video released on social media, photos of the search came out
The US Southern Command confirmed the seizure by releasing a video on social media. In the video, it can be clearly seen that the American helicopter is landing on the tanker, the navy personnel are searching on board the ship and the entire operation was carried out with full security.
So far America has seized five oil tankers
‘Olina’ is the fifth oil tanker seized by the US in recent times. All these actions are being carried out with the aim of controlling the global distribution of Venezuela’s oil products. The US alleges that these tankers were violating international sanctions.
Before this, two tankers were also attacked
Earlier, the United States seized two banned oil tankers linked to Venezuela in the North Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea, one of which was ‘Bela-1’, which was flying the Russian flag. Apart from this, another oil tanker named M/T Sophia was also taken under the control of the American army.
The American army was chasing for months
The US military had been eyeing the M/T Sophia tanker for the past one month. The US says that this tanker was carrying banned oil near Venezuela and was trying to escape the US blockade, which is why it was finally seized.
Increasing pressure on Venezuela’s oil business
It is clear from these continuous actions that America is giving a strong message to Venezuela’s oil business and related countries and companies. Experts believe that this may further increase the tension between America, Venezuela, Russia and China.
