The officials of Powercom, who filled their pockets by tampering with the software during the reading of electricity meters, have taken action to compensate the financial loss caused to the electricity department, including the resignation of the 40 accused employees. According to the departmental sources, there will soon be a big action by the authorities against the employees posted in Khanna, Doraha, etc., along with the East, West and Sub Urban Circles of the Powercom Department.
Powercom IT came into action after the news published in Punjab Kesari. When the officials of SAIL started investigating the case, many surprising revelations were made during this time. All the suspicious bills were investigated by the authorities on holidays and till late night in which several meter readers who issued fake bills to the consumers were found accused. A list of all such employees has been prepared by Powercom officials. Their total number is said to be around 40 to 50 in Ludhiana district.
On the other hand, all the accused involved in the scam case have reached the shelter of their political masters to save their lives so that the case can be pressed. At the same time, Chief Engineer of Powercom Central Zone, Jagdev Singh Hans, said that any accused who damages the government treasury of Powercom department will not be spared and strict departmental action will be taken against the accused and compensation for the loss will also be made from the concerned employees.
