After this threat, NIA, IB and Ministry of Home Affairs jointly started the investigation. It was found that this message was sent from Bhagalpur district of Bihar. Taking swift action, the accused Sameer Ranjan was arrested within 4 hours.

An officer posted in the PMO received a threatening message on WhatsApp in which it was said to target PM Narendra Modi. Security agencies tracked the location through technical tracing and found that the message was sent from Sultanganj police station area of ​​Bhagalpur. On the instructions of Bhagalpur SSP, a team of local police and intelligence agencies conducted a raid and nabbed the accused within a few hours.

The message was sent from a fake SIM

The investigation revealed that the mobile number used by the accused was registered in the name of an elderly man, Mantu Chaudhary. Sameer Ranjan had obtained this SIM card through fake documents to hide his identity.
