The terror of man-eating wolves continues unabated in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district. The latest incident occurred in the Kaiserganj area, where a wolf attacked an innocent girl late in the evening. The incident has spread panic in the area. Forest department and police teams are conducting continuous search operations.

Late in the evening in Godhiya number two village of Kaiserganj police station area, a man-eating wolf suddenly attacked a three-year-old girl playing in the courtyard of her house. The wolf started running away with the girl in its mouth. The family members chased him while shouting, after which the wolf fled leaving the girl injured in the bushes about 300 meters away. The injured girl was immediately admitted to the hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. The villagers are scared and frightened by this incident.
A week ago, a one-year-old girl was abducted.
A tragic incident occurred in Jarua village, a hamlet of Godhiya number four in the Kaiserganj police station area. At around three in the night, Ramkumar’s one-year-old daughter was sleeping with her mother on the veranda. Meanwhile, a wolf grabbed the girl in its mouth and dragged her towards a sugarcane field. Since this incident, an atmosphere of fear has prevailed in the entire area.
Fog and sugarcane fields became obstacles in the search operation.
Forest department and police teams reached the spot as soon as the information about the incident was received. Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Dr Ram Singh Yadav said that the search operation was started at around 3:30 in the night. However, due to dense fog and high sugarcane fields, there was a lot of difficulty in searching with drone cameras. Combing was intensified again in the morning. The forest department is engaged in efforts to catch or kill the man-eating wolf.
Wolves have killed 11 people in three months.
The bloody game of wolves is going on in Bahraich district for the last three months. In these attacks which started from 10th September, a total of 11 people including 9 innocent children and an elderly couple have died so far. Apart from this, 33 people have been injured. The forest department claims that till now four wolves have been killed, but still some man-eating wolves are roaming freely, who are continuously committing new crimes. On 28th and 29th November also two innocent children were made prey by wolves.
The constant attacks have created
widespread fear among villagers. People are hesitant to send their children out alone and are maintaining vigilance at night. Villagers have demanded that the administration increase security in the area and provide immediate relief from the wolves.
