The loan of one lakh reached 74 lakhs… The moneylenders took out the kidneys of the farmer by sending them abroad

A heart-wrenching news has come out from Minthur village in Nagbhid tehsil of Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, which has brought shame to the society and humanity. A farmer here, Roshan Sadashiv Kude, who used to farm on four acres of land, was forced to sell his kidney under the pressure of excessive debt from moneylenders. Roshan Kude decided to start a dairy business after continuous farm losses and for this he borrowed around Rs 1 lakh from different moneylenders. But luck did not cooperate. The cows that were bought died and the crops were also ruined. After this, the web of debt deepened.

1 lakh loan, 10 thousand rupees interest per day

The pressure of moneylenders increased so much that they came to Roshan’s house and started harassing him. To pay off the loan, Roshan sold his two acres of land, tractor and valuables of the house. But the principal of Rs 1 lakh suddenly reached Rs 74 lakh. It has been reported that moneylenders were charging interest of Rs 10,000 per day on Rs 1 lakh.

Advice on selling kidneys

When the debt was not reduced despite selling everything, a moneylender advised Roshan to sell his kidney. After this, Roshan was first taken to Kolkata through an agent, where he underwent a medical examination. Then he was sent to Cambodia, where his kidney was surgically removed and sold for 8 lakh rupees. But the greed of moneylenders did not calm down even after this. Roshan alleges that he had lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police, but the administration did not take any concrete action. Roshan says that if the police had acted on time, he would not have had to go through this physical and mental pain.

Debt burden still remains

Even after selling the kidney, the pressure of moneylenders did not ease. The mountain of debt is still heavy and Roshan has nothing left. Desperate, he has warned that if justice is not served, he may be forced to immolate himself with his entire family in front of the ministry.

Name of moneylenders

The aggrieved farmers have alleged that the moneylenders who harassed them are: Kishore Bawankule, Manish Kalbande, Laxman Urkude, Pradeep Bawankule, Sanjay Ballarpure and Laxman Borkar. All moneylenders are said to be residents of Brahmapuri city. This case is not only a painful story of a farmer, but also raises a serious question on our social and administrative system. Now it remains to be seen what will be the next step in this matter which shames humanity.
