A land dispute that has been ongoing for several days in Paonta Sahib, Sirmaur district, took a new turn on Tuesday. Dilip Rana, also known as Great Khali, recently leveled serious allegations against the Tehsildar and the department. However, Tehsildar Rishabh Sharma has now publicly disclosed the entire matter, along with evidence and documents. In a press conference, he stated that Khali’s allegations are baseless and misleading.
Purchased land number 8, occupied land number 6
The Tehsildar claimed that according to available records, Dilip Rana purchased land number 8 in the Batamandi area, but currently occupies land number 6. He added that the department summoned Khalil several times for demarcation, but he failed to appear on any occasion. Consequently, the dispute could not be resolved.
No documents were provided within 50 days.
Rishabh Sharma stated that for 50 consecutive days, Khali or his team had not submitted any valid documents to the department. He stated that if the land is yours, it is necessary to provide proof. Merely making allegations will not resolve the matter. The Tehsildar also clarified that being a celebrity does not make anyone above the law. The department offered several opportunities, but no documents were submitted.
Law is equal for all – Tehsildar
At the press conference, the Tehsildar stated that he was acting with complete honesty and would not bow to any pressure. He stated that the law applies equally to everyone, whether ordinary citizens or celebrities like the Great Khali.
Signs of further escalation
The dispute is likely to intensify following the Tehsildar’s response. Khali is claiming his land, while the department is stating that the occupation is in the wrong location. The investigation and further action in the coming days will determine the direction the matter takes. This dispute is no longer limited to land, but is turning into a clash between law and celebrity influence.
