The Shiromani Akali Dal has re-elected their former party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal as its president during the organisational poll held at Teja Singh Samundari Hall on Sunday.
News coming from inside the party had revealed that Sukhbir was the both “Favorite” and “the only candidate” for the post. Now finally three month long membership drive has come to conclusion.
Earlier Sukhbir Singh Badal had resigned from the post of the SAD president on November 16, 2024 atfer he was declared “tankhaiya” (guilty of religious misconduct) by the Akal Takht.
Sukhbir was first elected as the party president in December 2008, during his father Parkash Singh Badal’s tenure as Chief Minister.
