A shocking incident has come to light in Ilford area of east London where 30-year-old Gurmukh Singh alias Gary was stabbed to death on Felbridge Road. This incident happened on the night of 23 July 2025. Police and London Ambulance Service reached the spot after receiving information about a fight but despite all the efforts of paramedics, Gary died on the spot.

Post mortem report revealed
According to the postmortem report, the cause of death of Gurmukh Singh alias Gary was a knife wound in his left thigh. This incident has not only resulted in the death of a person but has also come as a deep shock to the British Sikh community. The murder is being investigated under the leadership of the Specialist Crime North Unit of the Metropolitan Police.
A person was arrested on the charge of murder
The police have arrested 27-year-old Amardeep Singh on charges of murder in this case. He will be produced in the Old Bailey Court on January 5, 2026 and will remain in custody until then.
Apart from this, four other people were also arrested in the stabbing case, including a 29-year-old man and women aged 29, 30 and 54. All four have been released on bail till October, but the police say that the investigation is still in its initial stages and all of them will continue to be questioned.
Investigation and police response
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna York told the media that it appeared to be an isolated incident. She also acknowledged that such incidents cause fear in the local community and for this reason police presence has been increased in the area until the investigation is completed.
Gary Singh’s family described him as a very loving and friendly person. In a statement released by the police, his family said, “Gary was a genuine and friendly person who had a wonderful ability to connect with everyone. He loved nothing more than being with his family.”
