Rapper Badshah became a savior for flood-ravaged families, winning hearts.

Families rendered homeless by the devastating floods in Punjab found new hope on Sunday when renowned music artist Badshah, in collaboration with the Sikh Aid Foundation, handed over the keys of their new houses to the flood-affected families.

Badshah himself was present at the event in Ajnala, meeting the beneficiary families and handing them the keys to their new homes. Local people, volunteers, and representatives of relief work were also present during the event.

Unprecedented floods during the last monsoon season wreaked havoc in several districts of Punjab. Thousands of families lost their homes, farms, and livelihoods. While initial relief provided food, water, and medical care, the lack of permanent shelter remained a major concern.

This initiative provided fully constructed, permanent homes to families who lost everything in the floods. These homes were designed to withstand future natural disasters, allowing families to resume their lives safely.

Speaking at the event, Badshah said, “Punjab has given me identity. When people here are in trouble, it’s our responsibility to stand with them. These houses aren’t just bricks and mortar, but a symbol of dignity, security, and a new beginning.” The victims who received their homes said, “After the flood, we thought everything was over. Now our children have a roof over their heads, and life can begin again.”

In collaboration with the Sikh Aid Foundation, this initiative was implemented locally to ensure aid reached the right families and those most in need. Organizers said this effort demonstrates that rehabilitation is just as important after a disaster, not just relief. Badshah expressed his commitment to continue standing with the flood-affected people of Punjab and urged others to come forward and contribute to the reconstruction.
