Punjab declared disaster affected state, 23 districts affected by floods, notification issued

The Punjab government has declared the state as disaster affected. In fact, due to the continuous rain and floods, all the 23 districts of the state have been affected by floods and more than 1200 villages have been affected. According to the information released, the villages of Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Barnala and Hoshiarpur districts have been affected the most. 

It is being said that 30 people have died due to the flood while 3 people are still missing. On the other hand, due to the water released from Ropar and heavy rainfall, the water level of the Sutlej river is above the danger mark. Due to which there is a danger for the areas situated on the banks of the river. The administration is taking all kinds of precautions in this regard. It has been learned that the army has been called late at night so that the security of the dam can be strengthened. 

It has been learned that due to the fast flow of Sutlej, the danger to the banks of Sutlej near Phillaur has increased. After the deployment of the army by the administration, every possible effort is being made for rescue at the places where there was a possibility of the dam breaking. At present, there was a possibility of the dam breaking near Sanghwal village in the area of ​​Phillaur, due to which the army has been deployed.
