Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday flagged off seven trucks carrying wheat seed worth Rs 74 crore for distribution among flood-hit farmers.

The Chief Minister said as per initial estimates, the total damage due to floods amounted to about Rs 13,800 crore, though the actual figure could be higher.
He said floodwaters submerged over 2,300 villages, affecting more than 20 lakh people and destroying crops on about 5 lakh acres.
