PM Modi will address the nation at 5 pm today, likely to discuss GST and self-reliant India.

New GST rates will be implemented across the country tomorrow. Just a day before this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation today, Sunday, at 5 p.m. This has been confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), although it is not yet clear what the Prime Minister’s address will focus on.

It is anticipated that PM Modi may make some important announcements related to economic, international, and cultural matters in this address. Previously, the Prime Minister addressed the nation on August 15th and during the Indo-Pak conflict. Therefore, the public and political analysts are closely watching today’s speech.

Hinting at a self-reliant India,
the Prime Minister said during his visit to Gujarat on Saturday, “Our real enemy is none other than our dependence on other countries.” Following this statement, it is believed that PM Modi may announce a major step or policy towards a self-reliant India in his speech today.

Sources said the Prime Minister is also likely to respond to issues like the 50 per cent tariff announced by former US President Donald Trump and changes in H1B visa fees, which could impact India’s global trade and jobs for its youth .

The PM may also speak on Navratri
. Navratri begins on September 22nd. Prime Minister Modi had said in Gujarat that “this year’s Navratri is going to be very special.” Therefore, his speech may also include a cultural message related to the festival. The Prime Minister may also talk about the new GST rates that will come into effect from tomorrow. The
new rates will reduce the prices of many products, providing relief to the general public. The government considers this to be the biggest tax reform since the implementation of GST.
