Kabaddi player shot dead in broad daylight in Ludhiana, police investigating

An incident of killing a kabaddi player by firing in broad daylight has come to light in the district. The case is of Anaj Mandi, a village in Jagraon, where due to a grudge, armed assailants opened fire on the player and threw his body in the fields. After that, the attackers beat him outside his house and said that your son has been killed, go and bring the body from the fields. The youth has been identified as Gagandeep Singh (age 32 years), who died during treatment. Deceased Gagandeep Singh has 3 children (2 daughters and one son).  

According to the information, Gagandeep Singh used to play kabaddi but now he is a bouncer. At the same time, let us tell you that the deceased kabaddi player is the nephew of MLA Sarabjit Kaur Manuke. It is being told that the deceased Gagandeep Singh used to help another kabaddi player. Because of this, he was having a quarrel with some young men of the village.  

Due to this, the assailants opened fire on him in the grain market, after which he fell into the fields. Gagandeep Singh’s brother reached the spot and immediately took him to Jagraon Civil Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. As soon as the information about the incident was received, Kuldeep Singh, the in-charge of Hathur police station, immediately reached the spot along with the police party. During the investigation, it has come to light that the young man has been killed due to a grudge for helping a kabaddi player. Currently, the police have registered a case based on the statements of the family members and started further investigation. The police say that the attackers will be arrested soon. 

According to the information received, Gagandeep Singh along with his 10-12 friends had reached Anaj Mandi where 4 youths from another group were already present. The attackers fired at Gagandeep Singh who reached there. Meanwhile, the bullet hit Gagandeep Singh in the middle of his stomach, causing him to fall on the ground in a pool of blood. On the spot, his brother rushed him to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
