At 1.30 am, some youths travelling in a car opened fire outside Jalandhar City Railway Station. Despite the grenade attack on Kalia’s house, the check post on Railway Road was empty late at night, due to which the accused managed to escape. Thankfully, no one was shot.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started the investigation. Manjit Singh of Kartarpur told the police that he was passing by the station at night. He saw that some youths were drinking alcohol by keeping it on top of the car. When he stopped them from doing so, they opened fire and fled from the spot. Police of police station three is searching for the accused and checking the nearby CCTV cameras. The in-charge of police station three said that they are investigating and after recording the statement of the victim, a case has been registered against unknown persons.
