The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has openly supported America on the events related to the change of power in Venezuela. Netanyahu said that the purpose of the American action in Venezuela is the restoration of freedom and justice, and the Israeli government fully stands by this decision. Netanyahu issued a statement on the social media platform X, saying, “Regarding Venezuela, I express the support of the entire Israeli government for the firm decision and action of the United States, which aims to restore freedom and justice in that region.”
He linked this development to the widespread political change in Latin America and said that many countries are returning to the American axis and along with this the relationship with Israel is also getting stronger. While congratulating US President Donald Trump, Netanyahu also appreciated the US military. He said,
“We welcome this change. We congratulate President Donald Trump for his decision and salute the US military forces, who executed a perfect operation.”
This statement came at a time when a video released by the US showed Nicolás Maduro in handcuffs during a ‘purp walk’. In the video, Maduro was seen saying ‘Happy New Year’ to journalists and DEA agents. Meanwhile, Venezuela’s Supreme Court has ordered the appointment of Vice President Delsey Rodriguez as acting president after Maduro’s ouster. The court said Maduro is currently “physically and temporarily unable” to carry out his duties. This order was broadcast on the government TV channel VTV.
According to the report, the plan to remove Maduro in America was also made during Trump’s first term, but then it could not be implemented. Trump’s former National Security Advisor John Bolton said that at that time, Trump’s special interest was in Venezuela’s oil resources. Now Trump has arrested Maduro while confirming “massive military action” against Venezuela. However, according to reports, this action was taken without the formal approval of the US Congress, which is raising questions even within the US.
