US President Donald Trump said in a telephone interview with The Atlantic magazine on Sunday that Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez could pay a “very big price” if she doesn’t do the right thing for the Latin American country.
Trump’s latest statement contradicts his comments about Rodriguez on Saturday. He said that Secretary of State Marco Rubio had spoken with Rodriguez and that she was willing to take whatever steps the US deems necessary to improve living standards in Venezuela.
However, Rodriguez has criticized the deportation of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and demanded that the US return him. Trump told the magazine that “if she doesn’t do the right thing, she will pay a very big price, perhaps even bigger than Maduro.”
