Another good news has come out for the people of Punjab. According to the information, the Punjab government has decided to close the toll plaza of Jagraon-Nokodar road. This decision will come into effect about a year and a half before the scheduled date of toll till May 15, 2027. After this, this will be the 19th toll plaza in Punjab to be closed.

The government said that a formal notification has been issued to stop the operation of the related toll and now no toll will be charged from the drivers on this route. Let it be known that in the last three and a half years, the Aam Aadmi Party government has closed 18 toll plazas so far. This step will facilitate the travel of people and reduce the cost of transportation.
According to the state government, earlier these toll plazas were operated on public-private partnership (PPP) model. Now the supervision and maintenance of these roads will be under the control of the government. According to data, the annual collection from earlier 18 toll plazas was around ₹222 crore. Now this amount will benefit the people as direct relief.
