Goa Nightclub fire: Major update on Goa incident, both owners flee the country on Indigo flight

Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, the main accused in the recent Romeo Lane fire in Goa, fled Mumbai to Phuket, Thailand, on an Indigo flight just five hours after the incident. Goa police issued a statement on the matter, saying they are currently investigating the whereabouts of the two accused and the entire process of their escape abroad. The investigation is ongoing, and officials plan to seek international assistance.

The Goa Police stated that the Birch by Romeo Lane fire incident is being actively investigated. Upon filing an FIR, a police team was immediately dispatched to Delhi, where raids were conducted at the residences of the accused, Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra. The two accused were not found during the raid, following which a notice was posted at their residence as per the law.

Police also stated that a Lookout Circular (LOC) had been issued against the two men by the evening of December 7. Contact with Mumbai Immigration revealed that the two men had departed for Phuket on IndiGo flight 6E 1073 at 5:30 a.m. on December 7. The incident occurred around midnight the previous night, suggesting they attempted to evade detection.

Goa Police have also contacted the CBI’s Interpol Division to apprehend the accused and bring them to justice as soon as possible. Meanwhile, police have detained Bharat Kohli from Delhi and obtained transit remand. Bharat Kohli will be brought to Goa for further questioning. Furthermore, post-mortem examinations (PMEs) have been completed for all the deceased, and the bodies have been handed over to their families. Police and relevant authorities have assured continued strict action in the entire matter.
