While it is currently raining heavily in the neighboring states including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh has been wreaked due to heavy rains and cloudburst incidents. Due to this, the river Beas has flooded and the situation is continuously deteriorating. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in view of the recent situation and has warned people to be vigilant.
The meteorological department had already issued a red alert for several districts of Himachal and according to the forecast of the department, heavy rains are continuing there. Meanwhile, the cloud bursting incidents in many areas including Mandi have made the situation even more serious. Landslides have also occurred in many places. A flood alert has also been issued due to rising water levels in rivers.

According to the data released by the State Emergency Operation Center due to heavy destruction caused by the monsoon , a total of 39 people have died in Himachal from the onset of the monsoon on June 20 to the evening of June 29. 4 people are missing, 81 people are injured. These figures include incidents such as snake bites, drowning, road accidents and drowning. 20 people died directly due to monsoon, while 19 people died in other accidents. A total loss of Rs 7540.09 lakhs has been incurred in the state due to heavy rains between 20th and 29th June.
