May 30, 2015 | Anandpur Sahib: Dead body of NRI businessman Ranjit Singh Power who was missing since May 8 has been recovered in a Punjab forest. Information in this regard was released by the police today and said that the body was found in a forest near Anandpur Sahib in Ropar district.
Family members of Ranjit Singh Power’s family has been making efforts to know his whereabouts.
According to the police the body was found on the basis of revelations made by the cab driver of another non-resident Indian (NRI) Baldev Deol, who is the victim’s friend and business partner.
A property dispute is believed to be the cause of the crime. The British hotelier of Punjabi origins was missing since May 8. He was on a business trip to India.
A case of abduction has been registered by the Jalandhar police against Baldev Deol on the complaint of the Wolverhampton hotelier’s brother Amrik Singh, who resides in Jalandhar.
According to police Baldev Deol was also in Punjab when Power went missing. Later, the police said he fled to Britain.
