Mumbai ,December 30, 2014 |Mumbai: Amidst controversies and calls for ban, Aamir Khan’s “PK” has made another record at the Indian box office crossing the 200 crore mark in just nine days, beating the lifetime record of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Happy New Year”.
‘PK’ collected Rs.17.12 crore on Saturday and crossed the 200 crore mark. On Sunday morning, the collection of PK stood at Rs.214.14 crore. By collecting 22.15 cr on Sunday, the collection of the film has become 236 cr nett plus in 10 days. Thus, PK has crossed the lifetime figure of Salman Khan starrer ”Kick” in 10 days straight.
Hindu organizations are accusing PK movie for being anti-Hindu. Hindu outfits like Hindu Legal Cell, Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal say that the movie insults Hindu religion and Hindu gods.
Hindu Legal Cell has moved police complaint against PK director Rajkumar Hirani and actor Aamir Khan for hurting Hindu sentiments.
However BJP leader and Hindutva ideolouge LK Advani praised PK movie and appreciated the makers of the controversial movie for promoting the perceived notion of ‘Indian nationalism’,
