Cloudburst late at night has caused massive destruction in Sahastradhara, a famous tourist spot in Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun. Due to this accident in the Karligarh area, many shops were swept away in the strong currents, while two people are reported missing. However, it is a matter of relief that no major loss of life has been confirmed yet.
Rescue operation continued throughout the night
As soon as the incident was reported, SDRF and NDRF teams immediately reached the spot. Rescue operations were started in the dark of the night and local people living on the river bank were shifted to safer places. Rescue operations are underway on a war footing to find the two missing persons. Heavy machinery like JCBs have also been deployed to remove the debris.
