A sensational crime has unfolded in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, where an 11th-grade student was shot and killed in broad daylight inside the Cooperative Inter College in the Pipraich police station area. Bike-borne assailants targeted the student on the college campus, opened fire, and fled the scene. The student died on the spot, causing panic throughout the college. The deceased student has been identified as 17-year-old Sudhir Bharti, a resident of Garhwa village in Pipraich. Sudhir was reportedly standing with his friends when four assailants arrived on a bike and opened fire upon seeing him. The bullet pierced his neck, causing him to collapse. The accused fled brandishing pistols.

Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Senior police officers also arrived at the scene, and an investigation was launched. Upon learning of the incident, the family rushed to the college in a distraught state. Angry villagers protested by placing the body near the deceased’s home. After about two and a half hours of effort, the police brought the situation under control. SSP Rajkaran Nayyar inspected the scene and stated that the incident stemmed from an old dispute between two groups from the same village. Preliminary investigations revealed that a dispute in the village three days ago led to the murder.
According to the police, a suspect has been detained and is being questioned, while the deceased student’s friends and the suspects’ families are also being questioned. Several teams have been formed to arrest the accused. The SSP also stated that a dispute regarding the mobile phone status is also emerging, and the investigation is ongoing. Police say the entire case will be resolved after the arrest of the accused. Since the incident, tension has gripped the area, and security has been tightened.
