Meanwhile, China has strongly condemned the US military action in Venezuela, calling it a blatant violation of international law. In an official statement issued on Saturday, January 3, 2026, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the US attacks on Venezuela are extremely shocking and a serious case of the use of force against a sovereign country. This statement was reported by the news agency Reuters.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said it was deeply shocked by the US attack on an independent and sovereign country like Venezuela. The Ministry stated unequivocally that the use of military force against the president of any country is completely wrong. The statement said,
“China strongly condemns the US use of force against a sovereign country and military action against the president of any country.”
China protested the US action, saying that the attack on Venezuela not only violates international law but also directly attacks the country’s sovereignty. Furthermore, it poses a serious threat to peace and security throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
China’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement, “China strongly opposes such bullying behavior by the US. This move is a serious violation of international law, undermines Venezuela’s sovereignty, and endangers the peace and security of Latin America and the Caribbean.”
China has also appealed to the US to adhere to international law and respect the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. China stated that no country has the right to interfere with the sovereignty and security of other countries.
