Bihar Hijab Controversy: Dr. Nusrat Parveen did not join her job, important information comes to light

Nusrat Parveen, a Muslim doctor who came to prominence after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar removed her hijab on stage, did not report for duty on Saturday. Patna Civil Surgeon Avinash Kumar Singh said that Nusrat Parveen did not report for duty until 7 p.m. Saturday . He said that the joining time had already expired that day . He also noted that the deadline for doctors to join has now been extended beyond December 20th . Therefore , it remains to be seen whether Nusrat Parveen will join duty on Monday .

This big information came to light

Civil Surgeon Avinash Kumar Singh did not specify the new deadline for doctors to join. This entire matter is related to an incident whose video quickly went viral on social media and sparked a major political controversy. The incident occurred on Monday at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Patna. Ayush doctors had arrived to collect their appointment letters. When a female doctor arrived to collect her letters, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar noticed her veil. He asked, “What is this?” and then removed her veil.

The civil surgeon stated that he did not know the real reason for the female doctor’s refusal to join. He added that he had not been able to contact either the doctor or any of her family members. Meanwhile, Vijay Kumar, a surgeon posted at the Sabalpur Primary Health Center ( PHC) in Patna Sadar , also confirmed that the female doctor had not yet reported for duty at the center where she was supposed to join.

The surgeon said that about five or six people joined duty on Saturday, but Nusrat Parveen was not among them. He said, “Parveen’s name is on the list, but we have not yet received her appointment letter from the Patna Civil Surgeon’s office.” He also explained that according to the rules, candidates must first report to the Patna Civil Surgeon’s office, after which they must join their designated workplace. Meanwhile, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan expressed displeasure over the controversy surrounding the veil. He said, “I am saddened to hear the word ‘controversy’ in this matter. Can there ever be a dispute between a father and daughter?”
