Big news is coming out from Punjab. In three villages under Majitha Assembly Constituency, the news is coming out that around 14 people died due to drinking poisonous liquor late in the evening. Earlier, the number of dead was 8, including 3 people from village Bhangali, 3 people from Mardi Kalan and 2 people from Tharayewal. This incident took place very close to Chowki Bhangali Kalan under Majitha Police Station. It is known that the death toll may increase.

According to the information, a total of 6 accused including the kingpin and main supplier of this counterfeit liquor racket have been arrested within 7 hours. The arrested accused have been identified as Prabhjeet Singh, Kulbir Singh alias Jaggu, Sahib Singh alias Sarae (resident of Mardi Kalan), Gurjant Singh and Ninder Kaur (resident of Thirewal). It is being told that the kingpins of this liquor racket Sahib Singh and Prabhajit Singh were the masterminds of the supply of fake liquor. The arrested accused is Kulbir Singh alias Jaggu, brother of the main accused Prabhjeet Singh.
The SSP of Amritsar Rural has confirmed these arrests. He said that a case has been registered against these accused under the Excise Act, and under Sections 105 and 61A of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). The entire counterfeit liquor network is being investigated in depth. Through this action, the Punjab government has given a strong message that the liquor mafia will not be spared under any circumstances.
