Taking a historic decision, the Bihar government has now changed the name of Gaya city to ‘Gayaji’. This step will further honor the religious and cultural significance of the city. This name change will not only enhance the local identity but will also contribute to regional development.

In fact, many important decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in which schemes related to the development of the state, benefits of employees and social welfare were announced. These decisions have provided significant relief and opportunities for the citizens of Bihar, martyr families and government employees. In the series of decisions taken in the cabinet meeting, many major steps have been taken, from renaming the city ‘Gaya’ to financial approvals for water supply schemes.
The city of Gaya will now be known as ‘Gayaji’, a decision taken to honor the local culture and religious significance. Along with this, an ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh each was also announced for the families of the martyrs, which is a big step to honor their contribution and sacrifice.
The state government has also announced an increase in dearness allowance for its employees, which will benefit lakhs of employees. Apart from this, the state government has approved construction of government buildings in the gram panchayats of the state, extension of the period of Jal Jeevan Hariyali program and many other developmental schemes.
