Amitoj Mann’s new Punjabi movie Gadaar: Story related with Jaswant Singh Khalra & Bhagat Singh

Chandigarh 22 May 2015: Amitoj Mann, the director of “Hawayeen” (2003) has come up with his latest Punjabi movie “Gaddar – The Traitor”. Tag line of the movie title reads: Jo beejiya oh vadna pau… (one will have to face his deeds). The movie that has Punjabi singer- turned- actor Harbhajan Mann in lead role is all set to hit screens on May 27.The movie’s traitor has received massive response from viewers.

The movie’s trailer reveals that the Gadaar movie is somehow linked to the period of 1980s-90s in Punjab.

Where as Amitoj Mann did not disclosed much about the story-line of the Gaddar movie during his interactions with the media, an online media network called Daily Sikh Updates has, however, maintained that the film Gaddar is based on the story of infamous Punjab cop and human rights abuser Ajit Sandhu. Ajit Sandhu had allegedly committed suicide after he was named in various human rights abuses cases, including enforced disappearance and extrajudicial murder of legendary human activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.Ajit Sandhu was involved in the 2 high profile killings of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s kin and human rights activist Sardar Jaswant Singh Khalra.

The makers of Gadaar had declared to release the movie on May 22 but the release date was alter changed to May 29.
