The movie “Gadaar The Traitor” hit screens across the globe on Friday 29 may 2015.The movie is directed by Amitoj Mann.Amitoj Mann, the director of “Hawayeen” (2003) has come up with his latest Punjabi movie “Gadaar – The Traitor”. Tag line of the movie title reads: Jo beejiya oh vadna pau… (one will have to face his deeds). The movie’s trailer reveals that the Gaddar movie is somehow linked to the period of 1980s-90s in Punjab.
The film, as reports have suggested, is based on the life of notorious Punjab police officer and human rights abuser Ajit Sandhu. Ajit had reportedly committed suicide on being named in multiple human rights abuse cases.
