Lakhs of people from about 1000 villages of the state have been affected by the floods. He said that the farmers are suffering huge losses. Bhagwant Mann has also demanded a change in the rules of SDRF so that the compensation amount given to the farmers can be increased to Rs 50,000. He said that the Punjab government has decided to give Rs 50,000 per acre compensation to the farmers, but for this it is necessary to take consent from the Center. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that immediate help from the central government is the need of the hour to deal with this major natural disaster.
