The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has once again leveled serious allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. Senior party leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal has launched a sharp attack on the AAP government over this issue. Sharing a post on social media, he said that the Punjab government is working with the spirit of political revenge under the guise of a very sensitive matter like the holy images of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Harsimrat Kaur Badal alleged that the purpose of the SIT (Special Investigation Team) formed by the government is not to do justice, but to intimidate and defame the leadership of the Akali Dal. He said that the people of Punjab will never accept such politics.
The Akali Dal says that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government, alarmed by the growing popularity of the party, has formed a politically motivated SIT in the name of investigating the disappearance of 328 sacred ‘saroops’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. According to the party, the real purpose of this SIT is to implicate Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal in a false case.
Questioning the officials involved in the SIT
Akali Dal leaders alleged that the SIT has deliberately included officers who are believed to be close to the Aam Aadmi Party or who have a personal grudge against Sukhbir Singh Badal. The party called it part of the AAP government’s political agenda.
According to the Akali Dal, the supervisory officer of the SIT is Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar. The party claims that after the murderous attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal at Sri Darbar Sahib premises, they did not file an FIR for about six hours. Later he also stated that the attack could be staged to gain sympathy.
SP Harpal Singh, another member of the SIT, has been accused of helping the assailant to conduct a search of the place where Sukhbir Singh Badal was serving on the orders of the Akal Takht Sahib. At the same time, calling SP Gurbans Singh Bains a “tainted officer”, Akali Dal said that he had already been punished in corruption cases and it was through him that a false case was filed against Bikram Singh Majithia.
Regarding DSP Bint Junja, the Akali Dal claimed that he is the brother of an AAP leader from Patiala and was recently promoted and posted in Ludhiana. The party also alleged that the government, in order to advance its agenda, has been using the former SSP Dr. Ravjot Kaur Grewal has been posted in the vigilance department. Apart from this, Jyoti Yadav, wife of Cabinet Minister Harjot Bains, has been appointed SSP Bathinda, so that senior Akali leaders can be targeted.
Allegations of nervousness on the government
The Akali Dal said that the AAP government is nervous about the return of the Akali Dal and is taking such steps in this nervousness. The party clearly said that Sukhbir Singh Badal is not afraid of these threats and pressure. Akali Dal expressed confidence that with the support and blessings of the people of Punjab, it will face this failed government firmly and bring the truth to the people.
